Cooking with special nutrients - Healthy Nasi Kuning Recipe

On January 2017, Bright Vision Hospital's Dietetics department launched monthly cooking demonstrations for our elderly patients. During classes, patients learn how to incorporate healthy and nutritious ingredients in simple meals. In this class, our dietitians taught patients how to cook a healthy rendition of a local favourite - Nasi Kuning!

Nasi Kuning Recipe

  • 1/2 cup (100g) uncooked white rice (washed and drained)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) uncooked brown rice (washed and drained)
  • 1/4 cup low fat evaporated milk
  • 200g canned tuna flakes in water
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 50g mixed vegetables
  • 2 cups (500ml) water
